Why are Granville Solutions unique?

Granville believes their solutions are unique as they are packaged products combining all the following:

  1. Data warehouse – containing a generic banking data model (Granville’s proprietary) - built with the most modern, highly scalable relational database
  2. OLAP layer (OnLine Analytical Processing) with cubes and views supplied so users can start analysing their data immediately -  built with the most efficient OLAP software
  3. ‘Adaptors’ – packaged ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) for Banking systems which automatically retrieve data from these systems, transform it, and load into the data warehouse. This is usually the most difficult part for any BI solution, and Granville are not aware of any supplier offering such a product
  4. All the software: (1) Granville (2) Microsoft SQL Server 2005 for the data warehouse and (3) Cognos TM1 software for the OLAP layer

So key in all this is that Granville don’t provide..
     just a data warehouse,
        or just ETL,  
             or just OLAP, 
                  or just work with one system 
You can buy these components 'off the shelf', but the real major cost is then using and integating these components, and particularly getting data out of your systems into a single data warehouse. Such projects can take many months, if not years.
